Founded in 1951 as the city of Hiroshima was beginning to rise from the post-War ashes History – TOHO BEADS we have become a world-leading glass seed bead producer, creating almost 10,000 types of TOHO BEADS. Welcome to a rare chance to see the various processes in our craft; from preparing the raw materials, to melting them into glass and molding the many shapes of glass tubes...there’s much more involved than you may know or imagine. Watch up close as our craftsmen and women put their heart and soul into making each and every bead.
You can also experience the ancient and contemporary, traditional and avant-garde of glass beadwork in our exhibition of invaluable pieces at the TOHO Memorial Hall.
